动笔

dòng bǐ zhī qián xiān yào xiǎng yī xiǎng

动笔之前，先要想一想。

Think before you start writing.

wǒ hǎo jiǔ méi yǒu dòng bǐ le

我好久没有动笔了。

I have not written anything in a long time.

tā zuì jìn hěn shǎo dòng bǐ

Don’t start writing until the idea has gelled in your mind.

wǒ jué de tā huì zì jǐ dòng bǐ

我觉得她会自己动笔。

I suspect she'll be writing it herself.

wǎn nián tā shèn shǎo dòng bǐ

晚年他甚少动笔。

In his later years, he wrote very little.

wǒ yǐ jīng kǎo lǜ xiě xiē shén me dàn hái méi yǒu dòng bǐ

我已经考虑写些什么，但还没有动笔。

I've thought about what I'm going to write, but I haven't yet put pen to paper.
